I'll be the first to admit, it took me a few chapters to get going. The exposition had to be carefully laid down in front of me, and once I understood the basics, I had trouble stopping. The novel turned into one of those "one more chapter... one more chapter..." stories that I found myself anxious to complete. Realizing towards the end that I was being set up for a sequel was frustrating, only for the fact that after I finished, I immediately was hankering to continue the story.

I am a science-fiction/fantasy genre fan, but I think that even those of you who aren't might actually enjoy this novel. It's based in a realness of setting and character, despite the futuristic time frame and galactic range. You'll find yourself relating to characters, and nervous as to their condition, or even their true identities. It's simply an engaging read, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

This book was a book that you can't put down until its over!!! Very unique story lines. Exciting from the beginning.I truly can't wait for the next one!! Come on Steven Hamburg hurry up!!
Introspection Transformation offers the reader a compelling, suspense-filled journey to the middle of the 21st century. The book’s genre is science fiction and the characters are well-drawn. Jake, the protaganist, is a teenager having to shoulder the weight of the word. The author makes the reader root for Jake and for humanity. This is the first book in a trilogy.
I recently finished reading Introspection Transformation, the first, but I can confidently say, not the last novel by Steven Hamburg. Even though I’m not a huge sci-fi junky, I was hooked from the very beginning. The author did a great job with character and plot development. The switching from plot lines and time periods kept me on my toes as a reader. Now I can not wait for the next book.

As a side note, I find it highly refreshing that the author has pledged to donate all of the profits from the sale of his book to various organizations that focus on improving the health of our planet and that help people and animals worldwide. Bravo!
As we move consistently from the perspectives of FBI agents to a high school teenage boy all the way to aliens in outer space, we find ourselves incredibly engaged in how human and thoughtful all these beings are. In trying to accomplish each of their back-breaking missions, all of these beings convey a strong sense of determination and yet a deep sense of internal conflict as they try to stay true to their morality. As the first of a series, Introspection Transformation highly succeeds on two fronts not rushing but not stalling either, welcoming us into an enriching, imagery filled world we can easily buy into, and want to stay in. As you finish the pages of this one, you’ll be eagerly waiting for the next.
Introspection Transformation is a wonderful science fiction story by Steven Hamburg that will appeal to both Young Adults and Adults.

I enjoy science fiction stories that take place in our current time as that helps add a sense of realism, relatibility and believability. In addition, I enjoy science fiction stories that introduce aliens that I haven't run across in other stories. Introspection Transformation succeeds in both of these aspects. The biology of these aliens is unique and interesting. In addition, Steven doesn't just stop at the biology, but he goes further by also creating a unique alien history, society and culture.

Introspection Transformation is great for parents and their young adult children to read together as it offers an opportunity to discuss the book as it will appeal to a broad age group.

The protagonist in Introspection Transformation is a teenage boy named Jake who has to deal with a new reality and balance that with his family and friends. Jake grows up fast as a result and he represents a positive role model for teenagers. Jake makes mistakes but he learns from them and continues to mature; always with a positive moral compass.

Another aspect of the book that was compelling and enjoyable were the twists and turns that Steven presented. This made the book hard to put down.

I can't wait for the second (and third) book in this trilogy!
