Take an average stereotypical girl-likes-guy situation. Now throw in a bunch of troupes. If you know about the show/manga Ouran High, then you also are aware of how it was able to take these stereotypes and give them variations, twists, and background. The show/manga was a joke on those stereotypes and made it good. That's not very easy to do necessarily.
But this manga (also show) did that.
Meet Chiyo Sakura, your typical highschool student who begins to like the stone-faced Nozaki. Nozaki writes shoujo manga (manga appealing to girls/typically romance) and is quite well-known for his story that he publishes in a monthly magazine. It turns out all of the characters in his story are based off of real ones that the audience slowly is introduced to throughout the events of the story. Each character is interesting and has something that completely goes against what their stereotype is known to be.
Another interesting aspect of this series is that it teaches the reader about how manga works without killing your brain. Since Nozaki "hires" his friends to help him out with his manga, the audience sees how the characters do their part such as the backgrounds, beta, shading, etc.
Overrall, I laughed a lot with this manga and the show. I'd put this manga under the categories of . . . Slice of Life/Comedy/Slapstick/Gag. If you don't know either Ouran High or this, I recommend both if you like these genres!

Monthly Girls' Nozakikun Vol 1 eBook Izumi Tsubaki Reviews
This manga is great fun for any shoujo fan, but it's also hilarious if you've waved clear of the genre for any reason. 😂 while you'd expect the main character to be the guiding light of sanity, she winds up being just as quirky in her own right. I just love how each character gets a chance to play the straight man, it shows just how funny this manga is from different points of view.
Super funny and it really plays up unrequited love, obliviousness, gender roles, how manga is made, etc. Great read!
I've read this before it was licenced. I've watched the anime. But even though I've seen it before, it still make me giggle, because the humor beats are that good.
I am not a shojo fan. The whole kawaii desu school romcom thing does not make my heart go "dokidoki". So when my friend recommended this, I was reluctant. I am very glad I decided to take my chances on it though; this was side-splittingly hilarious. I would definitely call it a manga for manga fans; there's a lot of humor that comes from understanding the typical shojo comic's plot and cast, as well as having some idea of how the industry functions as a whole. I found the comics about maintaining a wholesome image especially hilarious. The characters were also very sweet and likeable. It's a great light read and I would recommend it to anyone.
I love this title. Characters are engaging and funny. I like the story that develops around the characters. I thought this one is well written for what it is.
The anime is an excellent adaptation.
A few months ago, I wanted to purchase this book, but it was only available in Japanese. I'm really happy that it's been published in English, because this is the only series I enjoyed to the point of actually wanting to buy the book (mostly because of the comedy and likable characters make for high amounts of re-reading.) I don't like how there are comics printed behind the front and back cover instead of having their own pages, which makes the book feel cheaper. Overall, I'm happy with it.
Came on time and we'll packaged. This is a great manga, so good that it's been made into an anime! One thing that did surprise me was that this volume isn't as thick as most manga I've come across. Not a problem but simply an observation.
The manga summary (sans spoilers) would be this It's a manga about writing manga. The writer is a tall boy who has no idea about love yet is writing a very popular romance manga, the short girl is in love with him and helps fill in the backgrounds for his manga. The side characters are well-placed and help propel the manga. Overall, it is an awesome Manga.
